I like to blog but I can never figure out how to do it in the way that suits me best.
I tried to write a mum blog but never really felt like I quite fit into the category of one. Much as I don’t enjoy endlessly talking about babies at baby groups, I can’t endlessly read and write about them either. So here is my new blog-home – somewhere I will write about whatever I want. Babies, food, clothes, work, music. The things I am interested in, not the things I think other people will be interested in.
‘More than Toast’ is going to be about ME, and my life. It is how I went from working at Vice Magazine to living in commuterville with a baby attached to my bosom 12 months later. It is going to be about negotiating the rough path between work, kids, friends and home.
Toast was all I ate for 6 months after my baby was born. Toast and tea – and sometimes a banana. 8 months post-birth and my horizons have expanded as far as M&S microwave hoi sin noodles and Weetabix, and my life has expanded as I’ve started working again. So now, it’s more than toast.
Here goes.
