It’s cold. It’s very very cold.
What’s a girl to do?! My feet are not enjoying this winter and I need to wear something other than trainers on them occasionally…
Enter Canterbury Leather: a New Zealand-based company who have been handcrafting sheepskin boots since 1974. After hearing of my boot plight (it was front page news) they offered to send me a pair of their boots to trial and I gleefully accepted, picking a pair of their Robyns.
When they arrived about a week later I literally spent five minutes marvelling that these boots had come all the way from New Zealand. Isn’t the postal service fascinating? And then I marvelled at just how fricking comfortable and lovely they are. They’re completely different to UGGs: they feel much more solidly crafted (the heel stiffner is heat shaped and set and you can tell), they’re beautifully warm because of the sheepskin lining and I love the way they look.
As you can see, my mum and I had a whale of a time photographing the boots on our impromptu garden photoshoot (sorry about the first-thing-in-the-morning face). I quote “if you decide you don’t like those boots, I’ll take them off your hands”. Sorry, mum. The photos are pretty good though so I’ll keep you.

I have a pair of ugg style boots from another NZ sheepskin company which I got in 2009 and are still going well – that said, a new pair would be fantastic, so I’ve entered. :)
