It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of wine. It’s always white in the summer and red in the winter – or as one of my heroes, Katherine Ryan, likes to describe it, ‘Day’ and ‘Night Wine’ – so I’m currently enjoying a lovely lot of the winter-slash-night variety.
But do you ever wonder how is wine made before you clink your glass and take your first sip? I do! And luckily my friends from Barefoot are here with an infographic to explain the whole process of what is called vinification: from the reason why the grapes are picked in the middle of the night to information on fermentations.
I’ll drink to that!
