Happy Weekend!

Happy weekend! What have you got planned?

We have an exciting weekend of birthday activities; beginning with a special dinner this evening (I love my mummy and children dinner dates ;). Hux’s Thunderbirds-themed bowling ‘do is on Sunday, so I’ll be frantically stuffing party bags while I watch Eurovision with Elfie…. his cake arrived from Parteaz yesterday and it’s just INCREDIBLE. I can’t wait to see his face when we sing Happy Birthday :)

I’m off out for a 5k training run this morning with the running club – I’m still finding it incredibly difficult. It’s been 4 weeks: when does it start getting easier?! I’m hoping to fall in love with running in time for the summer so I can enjoy some beautiful evening workouts by the lake near our house.

Here’s what I’ve been enjoying this week:

My favourite handbag brand TUSTING are offering their bespoke customisation service free in honour of the Queen’s birthday (usually around £100). I’m coveting the Kimbolton in blush pink with black handles and a solid AJT embossed…

Thanks to my pal Emma I’ve discovered Thug Life shirts… I’m totally considering the ‘running sucks‘ tank and ‘mama bear‘ tee, and I love this ‘baby bear‘ onesie for my friend who’s about to have a baby.

Our Dyson V8 Animal arrived – my first cordless vacuum cleaner. It’s no surprise I don’t have a boyfriend if I get this much pleasure from household items… it’s amazing! Full review coming soon.

I’m off to New York again in just over 2 months, so am currently spending most of my time researching hotels (The Standard/NoMad/Soho House all current top runners) and reading all my old posts about it. I can’t wait to re-visit some favourite NYC haunts.

How good does this Persian fried chicken look, from the NY Times? I’ll temper that gorgeous batter with a slightly healthier recipe from Anna Barnett – filo cups with zested pea puree. Yum.

I’ve been spending time looking for a bikini this week as we’ve booked our Mark Warner holiday for next month – we can’t wait! I ordered this from Zara, which was just way too tiny and has gone straight back, so instead I’ve been playing with the more age-appropriate Boden Bikini selector. V cool.

This piece by Daisy Buchanan over on The Pool about depression was brilliant. MIND’s mental health week is coming up, which is a great time to talk about anxiety, depression and any other mental health issues.

I’m starting a newsletter! Sign up in the column to your right ———> :)

Did you know about labels for your Gmail inbox?! So clever! So pretty!!

These two east London homes on Apartment Apothecary are just gorgeous… anyone else coveting a four-poster bed right now?!

Happy weekend!
