Haircuts to consider this autumn

hair extensions

Whilst the summer saw many of us rocking a messy bun as our WFH hairstyle, this autumn is all about looking sleek and polished. And, if this year has taught us anything it’s the importance of self-care (and looking good on Zoom).  Take a look at our must-have ‘dos for the new season – and the new-norm.

The fringe

Quarantine tv saviour, Normal People, not only offered us an escape from the world around us, it provided us with the ultimate lockdown look. Marianne’s fringe not only stole the show; but stole our hearts too. And the best bit? Fringes are flattering on EVERYONE; all you have to do is find the right length. Whether you go uber short or opt for a 70s style Bardot look. And now the hairdressers are open you’ll be able to get your fringe cut in properly instead of being left with a limp curtain, and a heap of regret.

The pixie crop

The pixie crop has been a celeb favourite for a number of years, and this autumn we’re seeing it revived. The ultimate in low maintenance, they’re perfect for early morning Zoom calls – a quick dollop of mousse, followed by a blow dry and you’re good to go. For extra style points dye the hair a deep plumb or an arctic white. And don’t forget to use hairdressing clippers to help create that sharp finish.

The lob

Universally flattering, the lob – or long bob, is a clavicle-length cut that is arguably one of the most versatile styles. Perfect for those who are looking to give their long tresses a refresh, but not quite ready to lose the comfort that comes with a longer length.

Make the lob modern by asking for a blunt cut. This stops it looking too polished on those days you just want to wear your cosy loungewear, and have a textured lived-in feel. Of course, for those client facing days, the lob is long enough to tie back into a chic chignon or add a soft wave.

The undercut bob

A new take on the classic cut has been reinvented for this autumn and will see you through any more potential lockdowns. The undercut bob should you be your number one post-quarantine style because even when it grows out, it continues to look good. Worn in a number of ways, from natural, straight, to soft waves, or even tight curls, you could wear the same outfit all week, and no one would even notice!
