Finding Homes for my Homesense Finds

There’s nothing quite like arriving home after a bit of a home shopping haul. It feels like the first day of school, when you rock up to your new classroom with a pencil case full of shiny new biros and scented gel pens, only better, because you’re an adult and your boot is full of lamps, bowls, cushions and accessories.

It’s so exciting! Homesense finds Homesense finds

This was the feeling I had as I arrived back to the house and unloaded my #HomesenseFinds a couple of weeks ago (you can see what I bought and watch a video of my trip here!). Although I knew roughly what I wanted to do with my loot I was really excited to get cracking and find the perfect corners for everything.

The first item I housed was this beautiful pineapple lamp. I know that warmer tones like copper and gold are having something of an interiors revival – and I’m partial to a touch of brass myself – but I love this touch of silver on my dressing table. This corner of my bedroom is my absolute favourite so it’s the perfect compliment to my best bits and bobs: my make-up, my jewellery and my most treasured photographs.

The candle living next to my new pineapple lamp was also a Homesense find and ties the grey colour scheme together nicely. Homesense Finds

Next up in the bedroom were the new blankets and sheets. So excited was I to have gorgeous hotel-quality high thread count sheets that I threw them in the wash immediately, ready to pop on the bed to sleep in that night. I even ironed the pillowcases, and I never iron my pillowcases. Ironing pillowcases is a definite sign of adulthood, I reckon.

I slung my new super-cosy blanket over the foot of the bed – my current linen blanket ties in beautifully with it – and the new bed was complete. I love it: not only does it look good but the sheets are SO comfy. Warm, smooth and soft… very welcoming after a long day at work. And by work I mean hours spent refereeing disputes between a 5 year old and a 7 year old.

The bathroom is home to a couple new accessories: more candles and a lovely charcoal body wash for the shower. All the candles and smellies in my local branch of Homesense are arranged by colour so it’s super easy to lay your hands on accessories to suit a particular colour scheme (probably too easy… ;).Homesense Finds

One of the most insignificant purchases of the lot was actually the most exciting to me – the toilet roll solution.

I’ve always chucked my loo rolls on my bathroom windowsill and thought nothing of it until someone on Instagram mentioned my nouveau art bog roll installation – it bothered me from thereon it! Now my toilet rolls are artfully stored in this lovely wire basket underneath my bathroom sink unit next to my cleaning products and it’s made such a difference. Not having the loo rolls on the windowsill means the eyesore has gone, and now they’re low down the kids can help themselves, too. Homesense Finds

My last Homesense purchases were these gorgeous pastel bowls and a couple of pink striped tea towels. All these items are now happily ensconced in their respective homes in my kitchen and they make me smile each and every time I look at them.

Part of the TK Maxx family, Homesense really is a treasure trove of gorgeousness and with items up to 60% off the RRP, how can you resist? I’m such a fan of the lovely items I’ve found there recently and am excited for the festive season – they’re brilliant for Christmas decorations and have a great number of Halloween bits and bobs, too. Next on my list I think will be a campaign to switch all the black plastic hangers in my wardrobe for the amazing coloured Homesense velvet hangers – either in pink or in grey.

Have you visited Homesense recently? I’d love to know which treasures you’ve found!

Your life isn’t complete unless you have at least one fruit-shaped light fixture, in my opinion ;)

shall have to have a wander around homesense, looks enticing! love the ensuite-patio you have, I lived in a home similar quite some years ago. ever thought about some sort of outdoor statement chair/rocker and possibly some solar lighting along that planter thingy I spy?

I am amazed how neat & tidy your home is as well!

That’s such a lovely idea! I had visions of myself drinking tea out there this summer each morning but it never really happened – I think an outdoor chair would mean I used it much more.
I am a very enthusiastic tidier – I love it!

  4. I LOVE Homesense! And I also have bedsheets bought from there which are the softest I own. Our bed is a super king and so bed linen can be cripplingly expensive – Homesense is the answer :)
