You don’t have to be rude about it, just practise some pre-prepared sentences, like now isn’t a great time for me because…I’d love to help, however… Letting people down gently is fine and completely acceptable. Especially if they’re trying to get you to do something you don’t like or simply don’t want to assist with. Your time and mental health is valuable – don’t let anyone waste it!
