Being Pregnant

Things I won’t miss about being pregnant
– Being tired ALL THE TIME. So much exhaustion, it’s exhausting. Who are these glowy happy pregnant women and where do they get their energy reserves from (sidenote: I think they are all celebrities with live-in yoga instructors)?
– Whatever body part that keeps becoming wedged in my right hip. Ow.
– Only being able to wear clothes with a lot of stretch.
– Peeing in a really really small container every four weeks. Why is it so tiny and can anyone aim that well?
– Not being able to reach my toes. Or the floor.
– Obsessing over how something THAT BIG is going to squeeze through a hole THAT SMALL.
– People in shops looking at me, looking at my belly, then stepping back. I’m not going to give birth ON YOU, idiot.

Things I will miss about being pregnant:
– The freckle that only appears when I’m pregnant because it’s on the inside of my belly button.
– The excuse to wear leggings, yoga pants or pyjamas. All day long.
– Not having to suck in my belly after eating carbohydrates.
– Elfie lifting up my tshirt and kissing the bump. It’s as cute as it sounds.
– Growing a person from scratch. Every time I think of the spine, fingers, toes, eyes, hair and brain that I have nurtured for nine months it blows my mind. And freaks me out.

Thank you Miggy! I’m looking forward to being able to shop again (miserable when your belly doesn’t fit into anything) but will probably miss it when it’s gone x

Oh this so made me laugh. I used a funnel for the peeing in a bottle thing. I hated being pregnant and couldn’t even find one reaming thing about it apart from my boys!

Why didn’t I think of that??! Such a good idea. I’m glad it’s not just me who has found pregnancy very hard – this time around in particular it’s been bloody awful.

      • Gosh, so happy said the H word – as I am pregnant at the moment, I don’t really think it would be appropriate to say I hate being pregnant. Let’s just say I like being un-pregnant much more :)
        Beautiful little bump, btw. xx

I do feel guilty that I don’t enjoy pregnancy more (and I feel very envious of those who seem to sail through it!). I try not to moan too much as it’s such a miracle – my blog bears the brunt of the moaning! xx

Ugh, I hate her already. Moaning at this stage in pregnancy is only natural! xx

      • Lol. I know! She is ridiculously nice too which makes it so hard to do so! Is odd as I think all my friends I’ve asked re enjoying pregnancy, none of them have but then when I ask girls at work, they’ve all loved it! Are they all fibbing or just having wonderful pregnancies where they bloom and don’t have the greasiest skin/hair, swollen feet/fingers??xx

Haha, I hear ya! Peeing into that tiny container gets harder and harder as each week goes by. I’ve had the opposite problem with people in shops though – they don’t get out of my way and I end up bashing them with the bump. I’d much rather they gave me a wide berth (does that count as a pun?). You look great – still very neat! x

It does doesn’t it, I’ve just about given up attempting to aim now and have come to terms that I’m going to have to give my hands a thorough wash each time I visit the midwife! x

  6. every time I see your pregnant belly it makes me so broody! You look great! It’s funny how quickly you forget all the horrible parts of pregnancy and just look back with total rosy glasses. Getting so excited for you though!

This is why I’m trying to record all the bad bits – when Will starts murmuring about baby number 3 (it will happen!) I can re-visit my blog and remind myself how hard pregnancy is! x

Layout, hand held dslr, bump- perfect combo.
Totally with you on pregnancy front. I have quickly forgotten how each day was effort and every bump I drove over on the road reminded me that my body is not totally my own when growing a person internally !!
But it is so short and you’re almost there.
And your pregnancy tweets are true and wonderful

Thank you! I’m going to pretend all the things you pointed out were intentional, I definitely wasn’t just thinking ‘oh crap I’ve put makeup on today, may as well get the camera out’.

Pregnancy is bloody hard yet at the same time it’s a lovely lovely miracle xx

Thank you Sarah! I think it’s true what they say about stretch marks being hereditary – my mum didn’t get any and neither have I x

    I loved pregnancy.

It’s amazing how 6 months of sleep deprivation makes everything prior to that look rosy.

    K xx

PS: I did like it – other than the cankles, oedema, reflux, braxton hicks and carpal tunnel. Really, I did…
