Before She Was A Mum

I am really enjoying one of Mother’s Meeting‘s current features: ‘Before She Was a Mum’. It’s so easy to completely forget who you were before baby and fun to look back on your pre-motherhood life.

Mine seemed to involve a lot of going out!

Here I am:

Halloween 2009 – pregnant and I didn’t even know it

Nova Dando’s Fashion Week party with La Roux, 2009

With Naomi in Sven Vath’s DJ booth at Cocoon, matter, Summer 2009

With my brother at Sonar, Barcelona. May 2009

A bit of innocent tattoo licking with Kristin in the flat above The Old Blue Last

Being Paris Hilton at fabric‘s birthday, 2008

Your old life sounded a lot like mine- my husband was a bar and club manager and that’s how we met so used to spend a lot of time out! I miss it a lot now but wouldn’t change our new life for the world. Actually I think from what I have read of your blog and twitter we are very similar! Except you can cook and I can’t! ;) x

I dressed up as Amy Winehouse when I was pregnant without knowing it too!
When I worked in the snowsports industry I spent a lot of my time at events with lots of alcohol/loud music/hilarious people. I went to one recently and was exhausted by 2am but pushed through till 4am just to prove ‘I hadn’t changed’ – I’m an idiot! x

Hah – hilarious! That night I was exhausted and had to go home by 1am, thought I was coming down with something… if only I knew… I still remember the bus ride from our house dressed as Amy Winehouse. Brilliant fun x

  3. Loved reading this and seeing your pics. I too was at a fancy dress party as Amy Winehouse when I was 8-weeks pregnant… I was a very sober Amy! Photos of me on that night look very similar to that photo of you in this post, but I was wearing the yellow dress “look” rather than the vest top look. I had all the tats and the very same wig, it was lots of fun! xx

  4. Love this – makes me want to dig out some of my own pics to refresh my mind!! Though things do change once you have kids Chris and I remain dedicated to making “us” time, though the nights out have gotten shorter! It frustrates me when people suggest that with two it will be near impossible have any semblance of a social life. I embrace the mommy-life & know with two it will be even more full on (and awesome) but I’ll reamin dedicated to finding some “me” / “us” time – we’re made up of mum and woman after all!
