Although I love our kitchen the way it is now, I wanted to cutesy and warm it up a little bit. I’d seen Jen use some lovely fairy lights to decorate her kitchen shelves via her Instagram feed (I think from IKEA also) and thought they looked lovely, so filed the idea away in my mental ‘to do’ file. As soon as the shelves were up I was on the hunt for some fairy lights and found them again in IKEA; they’re diamond shaped so a little bit unusual and I love them. They really bring a little homely something to that spot in the kitchen, and Elfie loves them because she’s a total light fiend. The weirdo.
This is really pretty. In our previous kitchen we had those undercupboard lights and I thought they looked really great. Would love to have some kind of mellow lighting in my kitchen again.
yes! I love any kind of mellow lighting. I find it much nicer than overhead lighting.
I love fairy lights and have just put up a set in my kitchen – a good choice!
I think they look great in the kitchen – they’re not just for Christmas!
They look lovely. I definitely subscribe to the school of thought that you can never have too many fairy lights!
Amen to that! Next step is some solar powered ones for the garden I think…
My little girl used to love fairy lights when she was a baby. I love them too, I always have some up somewhere. I don’t think they should just be for Christmas!
xx
I TOTALLY agree! I used to have them in my room a lot as a teen, next step is to get some for the garden I think x
Hi Alice, After a lazy day (sunday lunch and a newspaper) with a spot of a ‘if I could have any house’ hunt, I’ve just been having a look around for inspiration for my own blog and found yours. I’m exceedingly jealous of your house, it looks great and I would love to be putting fairy lights up in my Kitchen but it just wouldn’t look right! I think instead I will pop some up in the nursery when I get round to setting it up (I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant with my first baby). Hannah xx
p.s. I too I’m digging stripes for slobbing :) I’m just beginning to show so I’ll be looking through your previous maternity clothes posts with interest
Thanks Hannah, and congratulations!! I definitely need some more fairy lights for the nursery I think (and am also planning on getting some for the garden, too!).xx
I love it, I have just moved my little silver lights up to the crudy (craft room/study) and popped some chili lights in the kitchen
I love those chilli lights! Must get more for the different rooms in our house (unfortunately my husband is not a fan of fairy lights at all).
Hi there, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was
just wondering if you get a lot of spam remarks? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can suggest?
I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any help is very much
appreciated.
Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just
your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything.
But imagine if you added some great visuals or videos to give
your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this site could certainly be one of the best in its niche.
Good blog!
