9 Months of Bump

When I reviewed my 9 months of a bump with Elfie I commented how amazing the body’s capacity to forget is. You look at photos of your pregnant bump and it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside despite nine months of hell and illness. Don’t be fooled by my smiles, they’re just for the camera.

Weirdly enough I didn’t feel that pregnant but looking back on it now I definitely looked pregnant. Very pregnant. I kind of miss it (SEE??! 9 months of hell and my brain is tricking me into missing it) but having Huxley on the outside is wonderful. It’s so strange to look at the 6 and 8 week photos and imagine him as a teeny tiny foetus inside me. So much has happened in that period of time; we’ve moved house twice, I’ve worked on lots of lovely projects, stopped working because I was too knackered, experienced a Christmas and only hair my hair cut once (oops).

Pregnancy: it’s 40 long weeks of a beautiful, vommy, exhausting, wonderous experience.

  1. How you always manage to look so brilliant while going through hell is a mystery to me. I think I’d spend 9 months underneath my slanket. x

    1. What you will notice is that I posted photos on really random weeks, 31, 33, 36… I could only have my photo taken when I was wearing ‘real’ clothes and makeup! The rest of the time I was in my pink yoga pants and a crap tshirt. Sexy. x

  2. Really cool pictures, but hell it is. On this side of town, heartburn just kicked in again. YUCK! Not in the bestest of mooods…
PS: Loving the slippers in the last pictures.
PPS: You should post a picture of yourself right now, skinny b****! ;-)
PPPS: Is your house always that tidy?

    1. Oh god, the heartburn. I had never had it before pregnancy and literally thought my insides were on fire when it hit.
Yes, I am a Monica when it comes to a tidy house. Though I have been hoovering for three days now and it’s STILL not done. 2 kids are really encroaching on my housewife time!

  3. You look perfect in every single picture, showing off the real spirt of a happy pregnancy. And embracing the chnages to your body, takes a strong woman to feel confident and happy that way, I commend you! :) xx

  4. When I look back at my preg photos I wonder how I didn’t pop. I looked as though someone has just built an extension onto the front of me. It puts into perspective the few pounds I’ve still got to lose to get back to my pre preg weight … So off to buggy boot amp I go!
