If you’re anything like my little family you’ll currently be mainlining anything cold you can get your hands on. Ice cubes? Yep. Yoghurts? You’ll find ’em in the freezer. Lollies? I’ll take six. Ice cream? GIMME!
Holiday sun tans are, for me, like hair cuts. It’s highly frustrating to return from having a chop and not get your new ‘do noticed by a friend or colleague, and it’s similarly annoying if nobody clocks your post-holiday glow after you’ve been away.
On the eve of my 33rd birthday I Googled “what happens when you are 33?” which I think pretty much sums up my laissez faire attitude to my extra year.
As a bonafide grown-up (or so I’m told), there are lots of unexpected adult things I have to deal with. When I was a kid I dreamt of my mature years being lots of things: exotic, glamorous, fast-paced (and never so blimmin’ tired), but being a grown-up is quite different to how I anticipated.
A tasty, healthy and budget-friendly meal: ready in the time it would take you to stroll to Pret and pluck a sandwich out of the cabinet. Lunches don’t get better than this!
I have not had a handle on my pensions for a really long time I get drips and drabs of paperwork about them throughout the year, but these get filed in my ‘to look at later’ file with only a cursory glance.
Spoiler: I have not managed to look at them later.
