Korean fried chicken wings
As winter comes to a close we start to crave lighter, fresher flavours – but until it’s shaken off the chill for good, comfort food is still a necessity too. These Korean fried chicken wings are spicy and very different to fast-food joint fried chicken, but they’re nonetheless delicious and the unique sesame and chilli flavours will really remind you that summer is on its way. These are the perfect party food to serve as nibbles, washed down with a cold beer.
Throw together banoffee pie
For a quick and easy dessert it doesn’t get much better than banoffee pie, and this version takes just fifteen minutes – plus time to chill. It does offer the opportunity to put Gizzi’s own little twist on it by using ginger biscuits in the base. The small change makes this dish taste really summery; banana and ginger is a winning combination.
Chicken katsu curry
A cheeky curry is delicious at any time of year, but with the winter layers soon coming off and the looming spectre of beaches and bikinis, we’re all trying to stay slim at this time of year. Luckily Gizzi’s chicken katsu is not only full of flavour and served with beautifully sticky rice, it’s also significantly healthier than a takeaway – so you needn’t deprive yourself!
