Christmas Gift Guide: For the Person Who Has Absolutely Everything

My dad is an absolute nightmare to buy for at Christmas. As am I, to be honest. We’re cut from the same cloth: we generally have everything we want and if we don’t, we buy it. EASY. Every Christmas and Birthday I rack my brains over what I’m going to buy for my dad and give thanks I don’t have to buy for myself. personalised illustration

If you’re similarly stressing over that impossible member of your family, I have the answer: Small Faces Ltd!

I first came across Paulina of Small Faces when I was researching artists to illustrate an image for my blog. I loved her stuff and commissioned her immediately.

I was blown away with how she translated the photograph and brief I gave her into the illustration she delivered to me a couple of days later – it was gorgeous. She really captured our personalities: Hux with his mussie (his smelly old blanket he sleeps with every night), Elfie with her bunny, me rubbing my eyes ;) It’s us, we loved it! The illustration has pride of place in our kitchen and it makes me smile every day.

Paulina has recently started working with another illustrator, Sara, and last week they sent me the lovely surprise of Hux and Elfie’s first day of school this year – as an illustration! I was absolutely thrilled, as was Elfie who took it to show all her classmates in assembly.

How cute is that?! Again, they’ve so captured the magic of the kids: Elfie’s looking angelic, Hux is farting around with his tongue out. Standard.

And here’s the original… Pretty accurate, isn’t it?

These illustrations make the absolute perfect gift for anyone you’re struggling to buy for- my dad will be getting one this year (luckily he’s allergic to technology so should never read this ;). You can pick up a family portrait from Paulina here (and get 15% off using the code OHALICE), one from Sara here and you can follow Small Faces on Instagram here. Happy Christmas shopping!
