The time has come, I’m starting to think the unthinkable: I want to go on a ski holiday.
I don’t think I’ve been on the mountain since the age of 16, before I knew about aprés-ski and all the fun that entails. I was there with my parents, staying in a beautiful house that belonged to some friends of theres, hopping up and down the mountains day in day out.
I loved it, but since then ski holidays have been eschewed in favour of hotter beachier escapes. I’ve kept up the practice, we have an indoor slope right here in Milton Keynes, but nothing beats the powder of Austria!
The cause has been pushed by my good friend Kirsty who has just come back from a quick break in Tignes. Her stories of cool slopes and hot snowboarders made up my mind for me – plus the gorgeous photos on Instagram of beautiful pistes and vistas. It’s difficult to resist.
I’m thinking that, for my first holiday back in the snow, I should probably go alone. I’m keen to get the children learning but still think they’re a bit young – tired and overwhelmed comes to mind – plus aprés ski might be tough with a 3 and 5 year old in tow.
So I’ve been looking at my packing list as a starting point. Obviously. Superdry have a new range out – it’ll keep you looking as cool as a snowboarder, even when you’re skiing – and here are my favourite pieces:
Clarrie Beanie – £19.99
Snow Goggles – £44.99
Snow Wind Bomber Jacket – £224.99
Snow Pants – £149.99
